"Please, Shannaya. Can we just talk about it? Did I do something wrong? I thought this was really romantic and -" She cut him off, by placing one finger gently on his lips. His lips stung under her touch, and he melted a little inside.

"It's not you, honey. It's me. I have some things going on in my life, and I just need a little time to think about everything and I don't know if rushing into anything would be a good idea." She had tears streaming down her face as she spoke, and Matt couldn't help but feel broken for the crying angel.

"Well how about I take you home, at least? Maybe if you feel like it, we can talk on the way." he offered.

"I'd like that." she whispered.

He grabbed her hand in his, and they walked slowly back to his car. He pulled the passenger seat door open for her and she folded her little body inside. Shutting the door lightly, he ran around the car and jumped in the drivers seat. They pulled away from the curb, and he let her have a moment. Surprisingly to Matt, she was the first to break the silence. "Matthew, I really do appreciate everything you did tonight. I just… It's tough for me. I just got out of a relationship that wasn't very good."

He cut her off. "Oh. I see… And it's too close? You still have feelings for him?" Matt's heart sunk into his stomach.

"No, no. It's not that." The shake left her voice, and she was more calm now. "It was a very abusive relationship, and I am glad it is over. I just found out last night though, I am pregnant." Shannaya's head fell into her hands on her lap and she started to cry again.

Many things raced through Matt's head, some of them good, some bad. He was angry, but felt bad for her too, but also upset that she still decided to come on this date even after she knew that she was pregnant with some other guy's baby! He pulled the car over onto the side of the road, speechless. He let her cry it out a little, and calmed himself down too. She was still so beautiful, that he couldn't stay mad long. After she stopped crying, she spoke again. "There was a lot of sexual abuse in our relationship, and he did a lot of things I didn't want him to. I tried to protect myself because he didn't care about pregnancy or anything, but the last time… He physically ripped me of my methods and I had no say. He drugged me, tied me up and raped me. I stayed inside for two weeks after that. I didn't see anyone. I didn't go outside. I took his key for my place from him while he slept, left him, erased him from my life. He hasn't tried to come back, and I am happy for that. But now, I am stuck because I am not alone here anymore, and I just don't know what to do.
